1848, Вятская губерния (сейчас Кировская область) – 1926, Москва.
1858-1862 Учился в духовном училище.
1867-1868 обучался живописи в С-Петербурге, сначала у художника
И.Крамского, затем в Рисовальной школе Общества поощрения художников.
1868-1873 Учился в Академии художеств в С-Петербурге.
С 1869 участвует в выставках.
1893 Дествительный член Российской Академии художеств.

Russian painter and architect.
Born in 1848 in the province of Vyatka (now Kirov region).
1858-1862 he studied at a religious school.
1867-1868 studied painting in St. Petersburg, first under the direction of
I. Kramskoy, then at the art school of the "Society for the Promotion of artists."
1868-1873 studies at the "Academy of Fine Arts" in St. Petersburg.
From 1869 he participates in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad.
Starting in 1893 a permanent member of the "Russian Academy of Arts."
He died in 1926 in Moscow.
